If an employee is ill for a long time and reintegration into your own position (Track 1) is no longer feasible, as an employer, you are obliged to start a Spoor 2 reintegration process. But what does that mean exactly? And how do you do it properly so that both you and the employee are helped?
In this article, we provide clear explanations and practical tips for HR professionals.
Track 2 is a process in which the sick employee is guided to appropriate work with another employer. It is the second route as part of the Gatekeeper Improvement Act, and comes into the picture when returning to your own organization is no longer realistic.
Track 2 usually starts after the first year of illness, as soon as it is clear that relocation within your own company is not possible. As an employer, you are obliged to start this process in time β often advised by a company doctor or employment expert.

A well-designed Track 2 process is not a check mark on the file, but an opportunity to offer your employee perspective again β outside the organization, but with dignity.
At Care4Careers, we guide Spoor 2 processes personally, professionally and fully Gatekeeper-proof. With clear communication, clear documentation and an eye for sustainable employability.
