When should you use outplacement?
Outplacement on dismissal, reorganisation or mutual agreement
You offer outplacement when an employment contract ends or when a return to the current role is no longer feasible. It ensures a responsible, respectful exit and gives your employee an immediate perspective on a new step.
Reorganisation or department closure
When roles are cut or a department closes, outplacement offers a respectful and professional programme for the affected employees.
Settlement agreement (VSO)
In an amicable exit via a settlement agreement, outplacement is a standard part of a sound social plan and reinforces a smooth transition.
Long-term mismatch or underperformance
When an employee is no longer in the right place and a return to the role is unrealistic, outplacement offers a constructive and dignified way forward.
Burnout or long-term absence
When returning to the original role is no longer possible after long-term absence, outplacement helps the employee on their way to work that does fit.

What is outplacement?
From dismissal to new possibilities
An outplacement programme at Care4Careers offers stability, perspective and personal guidance in finding a new future after dismissal. The programme helps employees rediscover direction, confidence and energy.
Our approach is not an off-the-shelf solution, but fully tailored to both the employee and the organisation. Care4Careers provides structure, calm and momentum, from intake to placement and aftercare.
Every programme is bespoke: flexible, personal and focused on lasting results.

What does an outplacement programme look like?
From intake to placement, step by step
After an intake, we map out your employee's situation and wishes together. We then draw up a personal action plan. The programme is fully bespoke, both online and on location, always with the same dedicated coach.
Intake and situation overview
The programme starts with an in-depth intake meeting. The coach maps out the situation: what exactly happened, where do the obstacles lie and what are the wishes for the future? Together you draw up a personal action plan with clear goals and concrete agreements on the intensity of the guidance. This conversation forms the foundation of the entire programme.
Processing and self-insight
Dismissal comes with emotions, and those are allowed. In this phase there is room for processing, but the guidance also focuses on self-insight: through career tests, coaching and reflection assignments, talents, drivers and core qualities come into view. That self-insight is the basis for a focused and realistic career step.
Career orientation and setting course
Based on the self-insight, we translate your employee's profile to the labour market: which roles and sectors suit who they are? What are realistic possibilities, and where do opportunities lie that they may not yet have considered? A concrete career plan is drawn up with a focus on roles that genuinely fit.
Labour market preparation
In this phase we work on all the practical tools needed: a sharp CV, a powerful LinkedIn profile, a clear elevator pitch and a networking strategy. Job interviews and negotiations are practised through interview training. Your employee enters the market with confidence and a strong profile.
Active job search
Together with the coach and jobsearch coach, your employee actively gets to work on the labour market. They respond to vacancies in a targeted way, employers are approached proactively and the hidden job market is tapped through the Care4Careers network. The coach monitors progress and adjusts where needed.
Placement and aftercare
Once a new role is found, the guidance does not stop. The coach supports the start in the new job: making a good first impression, managing expectations and settling into the new role. There is room for evaluation and aftercare, so that the transition is lasting. As the employer, you receive closing feedback.
Modular approach
Every programme is a combination of fitting modules
The outplacement programme consists of eight modules that can be freely combined. Together with the coach, we build a programme that matches the situation, goals and budget of your organisation. This way, as an employer, you only pay for what the employee actually needs.
Fully combinable and scalable. Depending on the budget, desired duration and the employee's personal wishes, the intensity of each module is increased or decreased. This way, as an employer, you only pay for what is actually needed.

Costs and investment
What does outplacement cost your organisation?

For organisations with multiple employees, we offer group programmes. Each participant chooses the modules that fit: from career coaching and interview training to personal branding or guidance towards entrepreneurship. This way, you only pay for what is actually needed.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions from employers
Everything you need to know as an employer about outplacement at Care4Careers.
When is it wise to offer outplacement?
Outplacement is valuable in reorganisations, long-term mismatch or termination of an employment contract. It brings calm, clarity and strengthens a reputation for good employership. Early deployment, when drawing up the settlement agreement, delivers the best results.
Am I, as an employer, obliged to offer outplacement?
There is no legal obligation, but outplacement is part of a social plan or collective labour agreement arrangements in many collective redundancies. Moreover, it shows that you take responsibility as an employer for your employees, which benefits the trust of remaining colleagues.
Who pays for the outplacement programme?
As an employer, you usually cover the outplacement programme, often as part of the exit arrangement or social plan. In some cases, subsidies or schemes from the UWV can be used. We are happy to discuss this in a free, no-obligation conversation.
Who is outplacement suitable for?
For any employee who loses their role and needs support towards a new step. Whether it concerns reorganisation, long-term mismatch, burnout or voluntary departure, the programme is always tailored to the individual.
How long does an outplacement programme take?
The duration depends on the situation and the agreements made, but on average it takes 3 to 6 months. We work in a goal-oriented way, with sufficient time for personal growth and results.
How quickly can you start?
Quickly. We can often schedule an intake within a few days and start with the first steps. Get in touch for the current availability in your region.
How do I, as an employer, stay informed of progress?
We always offer HR feedback. You receive periodic progress reports on the status of the programme, without us sharing the content of the coaching sessions. This keeps you informed while the employee's confidentiality is safeguarded.
Can you guide several employees at the same time?
Yes, absolutely. In reorganisations or larger outflow programmes, we offer group programmes alongside individual guidance. We estimate the capacity in advance and ensure that each programme receives the attention it deserves.
