Outplacement: support towards a new future
What is outplacement?
Outplacement is guidance from your current work to a next job, paid for by your employer. One coach is assigned and remains involved well beyond your first working day. Meeting us first is free and without obligation.
There are eight components. Coaching and assessment stand at the front and aftercare at the back; in between sit CV and LinkedIn, interview training, network, job search and entrepreneurship. On average someone uses four; which ones apply to you is your call.
Want to know first how the phases connect? That is covered in what an outplacement programme involves.
What does an outplacement process look like at Care4Careers in Almere?
Our approach in 5 steps
Three to six months, spread over five steps. Where you land within that range depends on how clear your starting point is. An outplacement programme holds the order fixed; the pace may differ. More about outplacement is on the service page.
Many people opt for a modular programme: together with your coach you decide where to put the effort. Here you will find our modules.
Personal intake
We start from your travel pattern and your situation at home, because those bound what is realistic after this.
Coaching and assessment
Assessment and conversation set out your ability and your preference, independent of where such work happens to exist.
Preparing for the market
Your CV and profile are written for the market you are aiming at, and Amsterdam's asks for something different from Almere's.
Job search and network
The approach is yours to make, working from a list matched to your search area. We review every conversation afterwards.
Aftercare and support
You have started and we watch along to see whether the new rhythm holds.

Moments when your focus moves beyond the organisation
When outplacement is used
Outplacement can start at different stages. What matters is recognising when your career is likely to continue somewhere else.
Restructuring changes your place in the organisation
When your role disappears, we separate your transferable strengths from the position itself and use them to build a new search profile.
Your contract will finish on a known date
Knowing that renewal will not happen gives you time to prepare while you are still working and explore possibilities without unnecessary pressure.
Departure is decided by mutual agreement
Professional support may be funded as part of an agreed exit, allowing you to prepare your next move with structure and perspective.
A return process does not lead back to the same job
If the employment relationship subsequently ends, the emphasis shifts towards identifying work that fits your present capabilities.
Outplacement in Almere
From work to work, with or without the train
Commuting is not unusual here but the norm, which makes it easy to stop thinking about. Meanwhile an hour of travel a day adds up to well over two hundred hours across a year. That trade-off belongs at the start of a programme, not at the end.
2,000 euros as the floor, 5,000 as the ceiling
What you pay depends on the components you use, both figures excluding VAT. A quotation names the amount before anything begins, so nothing gets added later. A breakdown per component is in what an outplacement programme costs.
We know both sides of the track
The employers in Almere and Lelystad as well as the offices on the Zuidas. Which of the two is realistic for you depends on your field and your situation at home.
Travel time is part of the calculation
We work through what a job further away costs in time and what it returns in salary and progression. Sometimes that comes out well and sometimes not at all.
Local work is less visible
Employers within Almere advertise less than the big names in Amsterdam. You find them through people; how that works is at networking to find work.
What you are working towards
You have found work for which you calculated in advance what it costs in travel time and what it gives back in return.
Who guides you
The coaches at P.J. Oudweg
Throughout the programme you work with the same person: someone who knows the employers in Flevoland and who sees how the Amsterdam market relates to them. You can meet in the centre or on screen.
Our office
Outplacement in Almere and nearby
Our Almere location is on P.J. Oudweg, in the city centre within walking distance of Almere Centrum station. This city has a labour market with a double bottom: there is work in healthcare, logistics and professional services inside the municipal boundary, and at the same time a large share of the workforce travels to Amsterdam every day. Where you sit in that balance changes everything about the search.
About Almere
Good to know about Almere
Twenty minutes to Amsterdam Zuid
The train makes the Zuidas easier to reach than some districts of Amsterdam itself. For office roles that means a search area of two cities rather than one.
A workforce that started young
People who moved here in the eighties or nineties often built an entire career at a handful of employers. That produces deep knowledge and a network narrower than the years of service suggest.
A young city with a young labour market
Almere is still growing, and healthcare, education and services grow with it. Many organisations here are younger than their counterparts elsewhere, which makes the frameworks looser and progression faster.
P.J. Oudweg, in the centre
From Almere Centrum it is a few minutes on foot; by car you park in the garages around it. Meetings can equally take place online.

Professional services, logistics and healthcare form the base within the municipality, while the openings broaden towards IT and engineering. What marks this city out is how much of the work sits beyond the municipal boundary, twenty minutes down the line.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about outplacement
Who pays for this programme?
Your employer in nearly every case, by way of the social plan or the settlement agreement. Let the document be checked and put your signature to it only afterwards: having your settlement agreement reviewed. What such a document should contain in a reorganisation is covered in dismissal through reorganisation.
I want to stop commuting. Will that cost me salary?
Often yes, and it is better to know that beforehand than afterwards. The gap between a comparable role in Almere and one on the Zuidas can be considerable, certainly in IT and finance. We set it against the time you get back, and then the trade-off is yours.
Do you search in Amsterdam as well?
Yes, if you want us to. For some of the people we guide Amsterdam is the main market, and for others it is exactly what they want to leave behind. Both are good starting points as long as they are said out loud.
I am in healthcare and looking for something else.
That is possible and it happens regularly here. Healthcare experience counts at insurers, training institutes, health technology firms and the municipality. From the inside that move looks bigger than it is; the effort sits in writing down what you can do all over again.
When can we start?
Normally less than a week after the assignment is settled. We respond to an enquiry within 24 hours.
I have worked in Amsterdam for years but live here. Which location am I with?
This one, unless you prefer otherwise. Where you live decides what is practical after a dismissal more often than where you worked: you know the schools, the travel times and the people here. Your coach works from Almere and also knows the Amsterdam market, so you do not have to choose between local knowledge and reach. If you would rather meet in Amsterdam, that works too; our Van Eeghenlaan location is twenty minutes down the line.
We are supporting several employees at once. Is that one programme?
No, and it would not work either. One employee has commuted for years and wants to keep it up, another wants to be closer to home. Together with their coach, each employee puts together their own combination of modules. There is more at the outplacement programme.
Where do we find you in Almere?
P.J. Oudweg 4, 1314 CH Almere, in the centre and within walking distance of the station. Name the day you intend to come and a coach is held for you.
How wide is the service area?
Lelystad, Huizen, Naarden, Weesp and Zeewolde are included, and Amsterdam is twenty minutes away. If you would rather stay inside Almere, we leave it at that.
