Outplacement: support towards a new future

What is outplacement?

Outplacement moves you from your current employer to a next one. One coach is assigned and stays throughout, and the meeting to find out whether it clicks is free of charge and free of obligation.

Which phase follows which is described in what an outplacement programme involves.

What does an outplacement process look like at Care4Careers in Amersfoort?

Our approach in 5 steps

You work through these five steps in an outplacement programme. How many components run sets the price, landing between 2,000 and 5,000 euros before VAT. You see that figure in a quotation before anything is set in motion. That is how outplacement differs from ad hoc help: there is an order to it and there is a price up front.

Many people opt for a modular programme: together with your coach you decide where to put the effort. Here you will find our modules.

1

Personal intake

The paperwork first: what contract did you have, what has been terminated and which periods are still running. Only then the substance.

2

Coaching and assessment

Where does your ability sit, and where does your preference? For anyone who worked on assignment for years, that distinction has often blurred.

3

Preparing for the market

Your CV is made readable for a client rather than for your account manager, because those are two different readers.

4

Job search and network

You approach employers directly. Anyone coming out of secondment usually already has the address list for it.

5

Aftercare and support

After you start we stay reachable, until you know the new arrangement holds.

Coach Amersfoort

When professional transition support may be useful

When outplacement is used

Some departures offer months of preparation; others require a faster reset. We start by establishing what your particular situation requires.

An organisational change eliminates your position

If there is no longer an internal role for you, we reposition your experience for opportunities beyond the current employer.

Temporary employment is nearing completion

Once the end is certain, you can use the available time to clarify direction, prepare your profile and explore the market.

Career support forms part of an agreed exit

When employer and employee decide together to end the relationship, funding for your next career move can be included in the arrangements.

Resuming the former role is no longer suitable

If employment ends after a return is no longer considered sustainable, we explore realistic possibilities outside the organisation.

From work to work, with your contract as the starting point

A permanent contract being terminated deals you different cards from a secondment contract running out. Yet both groups usually get the same standard advice. We start from the paperwork and only then from the labour market.

We know the agencies and the clients

In this region that distinction matters: the secondment firm sets your terms, the client sets your work. Both count towards what is possible next.

Three to six months, depending on your starting point

Anyone who knows where they are going sits nearer three, anyone still deciding nearer six. The pace is largely yours to set. A breakdown is in what an outplacement programme costs.

Attention for what your contract said

A non-compete clause, a training cost clause or a notice period can narrow your search area. Better to know that beforehand than during a second interview.

The months after you start as well

Certainly when moving from an agency to a permanent place, more changes than just your employer. Your coach stays reachable through that period.

What you are working towards

You know what rights your contract gave you and you have found work where that question no longer arises.

Our office

Outplacement in Amersfoort and nearby

Our Amersfoort location is on Arnhemseweg, on the south-east side and easy to reach by car. This city runs on professional services, IT and healthcare, and that brings a quirk with it: a striking number of people here do not work directly for the client but through a secondment firm, an agency or a temporary contract. Which kind of contract ends changes your position entirely.

About Amersfoort

Good to know about Amersfoort

Secondment is no exception here

Around Amersfoort sits a dense layer of secondment and consultancy firms in IT, finance and engineering. You work at one organisation and are employed by another, which at the end produces two conversations instead of one.

A junction in four directions

From the station you reach Utrecht Centraal in a quarter of an hour and Amsterdam in forty minutes, with Apeldoorn and Zwolle in between. Few cities give that much reach without moving house.

IT and healthcare growing at once

Demand for IT people here has outstripped supply for years, and healthcare is in the same boat. They are two worlds that rarely attract the same people, while the move between them is more feasible than assumed.

Arnhemseweg, on the south-east side

There is parking close by and the bus from the station takes only a few minutes. Travelling not an option, and the sessions take place online.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about outplacement

What does a programme consist of?

Of eight building blocks you combine. Coaching and assessment, profile and LinkedIn, interview preparation, network, job search, entrepreneurship and aftercare. Most people use four.

I worked through a secondment firm. Do they pay?

Often yes, because formally the secondment firm is your employer and therefore also concludes the settlement agreement. In practice it depends on the reason for the ending and on what your contract says. Ask about it before you agree; it is a normal question.

I have a non-compete clause. Does that limit my search?

Sometimes, and less often than people think. A clause that shuts off your entire field rarely survives in court, but you would rather not test that. We look at what it actually says and which employers fall outside it. What belongs in such a document in a reorganisation is in dismissal through reorganisation.

Do you search towards Utrecht as well?

Yes, and here that is almost a given. Utrecht is fifteen minutes down the line and has a multiple of the vacancies in services and IT. If you would rather stay in Amersfoort, we keep to this region and the towns around it.

I want out of IT. Is that sensible?

It works perfectly well, and it is a common question here. What you take with you is not your programming language but your way of taking problems apart, and that counts at insurers, care institutions and government. The question is what exactly you want to leave behind: the technology, the pace or the arrangement you worked in.

My secondment firm offers guidance itself. Why would I do this?

Because it serves a different interest. A secondment firm would prefer to place you on a new assignment, and often that is perfectly fine. But if you are unsure whether you want to stay in this arrangement, that is not a neutral conversation. With us, deciding you do not want to work through an agency at all is just as valid an outcome as a next assignment. What gets discussed also stays between you and your coach.

We are letting several employees go. Do they get one programme?

No. In a group the difference is often in the contract: one has a social plan behind them, another an assignment running out. Which modules someone follows is decided by the employee together with their coach. How that works is at the make-up of the programme.

Where is your Amersfoort office?

Arnhemseweg 6, 3817 CH Amersfoort, on the south-east side of the city. Give us notice of your visit and a coach is put in the diary.

Which municipalities belong to this service area?

Leusden, Soest, Baarn, Nijkerk, Barneveld, Bunschoten and Woudenberg fall under it. We bring the Utrecht market in as soon as you start looking that way.
