Outplacement: support towards a new future

What is outplacement?

Outplacement supports you in defining and working towards a suitable next step. When the programme starts and how long the guidance continues depends on your situation and the arrangements that have been made. Outplacement is usually funded by the employer, for example through a budget agreed as part of the arrangements surrounding your departure. What you deploy decides whether that lands nearer 2,000 or nearer 5,000 euros, VAT excluded. You keep one coach throughout and the introductory meeting is free and without obligation.

The eight components are coaching, assessment, CV and LinkedIn, interview training, network, job search, entrepreneurship and aftercare, and most people settle on four.

Curious about the order of the phases? It is written out in what an outplacement programme involves.

What does an outplacement process look like at Care4Careers in Enschede?

Our approach in 5 steps

These five steps make up an outplacement programme, and they come in that order. Where you join depends on what you have already done: if you know your direction, you move through the first two faster. That is how outplacement keeps pace without skipping steps you need.

Many people opt for a modular programme: together with your coach you decide where to put the effort. Here you will find our modules.

1

Personal intake

We start from what you have tried so far and what it produced. That decides where we join in.

2

Coaching and assessment

Where your aptitude sits comes out of the tests and the conversations, including the part you consider perfectly ordinary.

3

Preparing for the market

Your profile is rebuilt and you get a list of organisations that suit you, not a list of vacancies.

4

Job search and network

You approach those organisations, prepared and on purpose. We go through every conversation afterwards.

5

Aftercare and support

You are in the job, and we stay contactable for the whole of those opening months.

Coach Enschede

Moments when your search begins to move outside

When outplacement is used

A new career direction can emerge from several situations. We build from what is already certain and investigate what is still open.

Redundancy means looking beyond the organisation

When your position disappears, we turn your accumulated experience into a profile that can support an external search.

Your temporary appointment is ending

Starting before the final day allows you to spread career choices and preparation across the remaining employment period.

Departure is decided by mutual agreement

Professional support can be included in an agreed termination, making your next career phase part of the arrangements.

Returning to the former workplace is no longer the route

If employment ends after a sustainable return proves unrealistic, outplacement can help create a new work perspective.

Outplacement in Enschede

From work to work, picking up where you left off

This region places advanced engineering next to healthcare and education, and those call for different approaches. What works therefore depends less on your field than on what you have tried so far and what it produced.

We speak to the employers here ourselves

Our coaches work from Twente and are in contact with the knowledge institutions, the manufacturers, the care providers and the municipality. That tells us how an application lands at each of them.

First identify where you can improve your approach

That distinction provides useful information about where your job search could be strengthened. We therefore look at what is happening first rather than automatically starting by rewriting your CV.

Also when it moves into German or English

At the knowledge institutions and across the border a process often runs in another language. There are coaches on the team who do that entirely in English.

One guide, including after your first day

Only after a few months on the inside does it become clear whether a move holds. Your coach walks along through exactly that stretch.

What you are working towards

You know what did and did not work so far, and by now you are somewhere that approach takes you further.

Who guides you

The coaches at Piet Heinstraat

You work with a dedicated coach throughout the programme. If opportunities across the border are relevant to your search profile, they can be included in your exploration. You can meet in Enschede or entirely on screen.

Our office

Outplacement in Enschede and nearby

Our Enschede address is Piet Heinstraat, ten minutes on foot from the station. Technology, healthcare and education drive the labour market here. Among the largest employers are the university and the university of applied sciences, with supply firms settled in a layer around them. Germany is fifteen minutes away, which makes the search area larger than the map suggests. Almost everyone who walks in has already tried something, and what that produced decides where we start.

About Enschede

Good to know about Enschede

Technology and healthcare side by side

The campus and the companies around it hold advanced engineering, while healthcare and education together form the city's largest employer. They seldom run into each other, while both have places standing open.

Graduates stay more often than they used to

Where people used to leave for the Randstad after graduating, a growing share now stays in the region. That sharpens the competition for entry-level roles and does nothing to reduce demand for experience.

The border is fifteen minutes away

For some fields Gronau, Münster and Osnabrück simply belong to the search area. Working across the border does affect your social security, so we lay that out beforehand.

Piet Heinstraat, close to the station

From the platform you walk it, and drivers find a spot in the surrounding streets. Anyone wanting to skip the trip does it all on video, start to finish.

Technology is what this city is known for, yet healthcare and education together account for more of the jobs. Both corners are recruiting, which puts a move between them within reach more than it seems from the inside.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about outplacement

Who pays for the programme?

The employer, with rare exceptions. The amount is usually fixed before you get a say in it, so read what is there first. We do not review it ourselves, see having your settlement agreement reviewed.

How far outside Enschede do you search?

Hengelo, Almelo, Oldenzaal and Borne are included as standard, and Deventer and Zwolle are within reach from here. You decide how wide your circle gets; we stick to that afterwards.

Can I go and work in Germany?

You can, and it happens regularly here. Gronau and Münster are close by and short of people. What you do work out beforehand is which system you fall under once you sign a German contract. That differs per situation and it is specialist work, so we point you to the right person.

Can the coaching be in English?

Yes. At the university and the international companies here English is the working language. Some of our coaches work wholly in English, CV and interview practice included.

How quickly can we start?

The first meeting is usually within a week of the assignment being agreed. Anything you send reaches an answer that day, or otherwise the next.

We have several employees at once. Do they get the same programme?

No, and that is the point. Each employee builds a programme from our modules together with their coach: one lands quickly because only the way in was missing, while another has to settle on a direction first. More on that at the outplacement programme.
