Career coach in Amsterdam
Too many options and too little direction? A career coach in Amsterdam helps you narrow it to a choice that holds, and tests it straight away against what this city genuinely offers.

Career coaching: professional guidance for your career
What is career coaching?
A programme consists of roughly six meetings with the same guide, spread over a quarter. You examine what you can do, what drives you and how much of that is achievable here. For anyone who only wants a second opinion, career advice is often enough on its own.
The Amsterdam pattern is recognisable: a new employer every two years, a little more responsibility each time, and at some point the feeling that you did not choose but were carried along. We bring that motion to a halt and start from what you want. We treat this subject in what kind of work suits me.
Career coaching in Amsterdam
Career coaching in Amsterdam and nearby
Our location in Amsterdam is the Van Eeghenlaan, a side street off the Vondelpark, and our working area runs from the canal belt to well beyond the ring road. What makes this labour market unusual is not a shortage of work. Healthcare, education, professional services and trade are all hiring here, and the better-known side comes on top of that. Choosing is harder than finding, and that holds for the employee as much as for the employer who wants someone to leave well.
Career coaching in Amsterdam is almost always about choosing rather than being able. There is work enough and messages enough; the question is which direction will still make sense in five years. With one dedicated coach you map what drives you, what you want to be rid of and which roles in this city match that.
About Amsterdam
Good to know about Amsterdam
English is not the exception
On many Amsterdam work floors English is the working language. Our coaches operate in both, so international professionals get exactly the same programme as everyone else.
Everyone is looking around
The average Amsterdam career is a series of short contracts. That makes moving easy, and more tempting than it is wise. We test the reason behind the urge.
Van Eeghenlaan, by the Vondelpark
A short cycle from Zuid and the centre, and well served by tram and metro. Anyone who would rather work online simply does.
The region counts
Amstelveen, Diemen, Zaandam, Hoofddorp and Almere belong to the same labour market. A job outside the ring is often quicker to reach than an address on the far side of town.
Two years counts as a tenure here
Moving on quickly has become normal, so people often switch without knowing why. We get that reason on the table before you jump again.
From doing to leading
The step into management comes early in Amsterdam. We examine whether you want it, and whether you want it for the right reasons.
Coaching in two languages
A large share of professionals here work in English. So do our coaches, including CV, LinkedIn and interview practice.
What does career coaching at Care4Careers look like?
From question to decision
No two programmes look alike; what you need determines the content.
The steps alongside show what such a programme can look like in practice.
Intake meeting
After this conversation you know whether coaching suits you and who you would be working with.
Who am I? Why do I work? What can I do?
After this stage you can see clearly what you have built, separate from the job titles that came with it.
What do I want?
After this stage you know what you want and, just as importantly, what you no longer want.
Drawing up a plan of action
After this stage there is a plan with concrete steps, tested against what really exists in Amsterdam.
Realising the Next Step
Afterwards you take the first steps, with your coach reachable for the moments that chafe.
What you are working towards
Out of the dozens of directions open here you have chosen one, and you can explain why it is that one.
What we can help with
The four questions that come up most in Amsterdam
Is your question among these? One introductory meeting usually makes clear whether this works for you.
Rising fast and still doubting the direction
A fast career says little about whether the direction is right. We lift that question out of the realm of doubt and turn it into a decision.
More meaning rather than more status
A common wish in this city, and rarely concrete. We translate it into roles and organisations that genuinely match. The page changing jobs belongs with this. What a job search or a career coach brings we set apart.
Internationals weighing up whether to stay
For international professionals the question reaches beyond work alone. Those sessions run in English, with both scenarios worked out.
Running on empty after years at high speed
Overload in Amsterdam is the rule rather than the exception. We look at workload, working relationships and motivation; a career scan makes that conversation concrete.

Coaching after a dismissal
A dismissal looks like a conclusion and in practice often turns out to be an opening.
Coaching turns that change into something usable. Instead of sitting with the uncertainty, you look with a coach at what is possible: a different perspective, chances you had not spotted and work that fits who you are now.
Many people run an outplacement programme alongside it to make it real. Outplacement supplies the structure and the guidance with which you actually find a new job.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about career coaching in Amsterdam
How is this different from a good recruiter?
A recruiter has a vacancy to fill and you are the candidate. A coach has nothing to fill. You feel that difference within a single session.
Who ends up paying the bill?
A career scan starts at 1,000 euros excluding VAT. On the page the cost of career coaching every amount is named. Employers in this city often draw on the development budget for it; how that works is covered at career guidance for employers. We worked this out at a career scan.
Do I have to come to the Van Eeghenlaan?
Not necessarily, online works well. Getting acquainted is on us, and it ties you to nothing afterwards. If you do come, you will be beside the Vondelpark. In practice most people choose to meet in person once and then continue by video.
Will my employer notice any of this?
If you pay for it yourself, your employer is not a party to it. If they contribute, they are; discuss with your coach what you do and do not want shared before the programme starts.
Where can I find Care4Careers in Amsterdam?
Van Eeghenlaan 27, 1071 EN Amsterdam, beside the Vondelpark. We meet by appointment; tell us in advance what your question is about and we will pair you with the coach who works on it most.
Do you also work outside Amsterdam?
Yes, across the whole region. In practice people travel to us from Amstelveen, Diemen, Zaandam, Hoofddorp, Almere and Haarlem, or we work online.
Can I come even if work is going well?
Certainly. Most people who walk in here have a question rather than a problem. That is exactly when there is room to choose calmly instead of having to react.
