Second-Track Reintegration
Reintegration office in Baarn
Once the original role proves unsustainable, the question shifts to work that does match the employee's capacity. We guide that from Baarn, with Amersfoort a quarter of an hour away and Hilversum and Utrecht half an hour, recording as we go what the UWV will want to see at review.

What second track means
Work with another employer, with travel time part of the equation
When the employee does not return to their own role and the employer has nothing suitable internally, the second track follows. First what remains feasible is established, then capacity is built up, and after that we approach employers. How those stages connect is set out at the second track programme.
Besides the statutory obligation, distance plays a part in Baarn. Three labour markets sit within half an hour, which widens the range considerably, but travelling costs energy that is scarce during the build-up. What counts as within reach on paper is not always so in practice.
Our office
Second-track reintegration in Baarn and nearby
Our Baarn location stands on Baarnsche Dijk, between the village and the woods. Services, healthcare and the media companies set the character of this area. Amersfoort sits fifteen minutes away, with Hilversum and Utrecht at roughly half an hour each. A dismissal here is rarely something you go through alone: the first conversation often happens at home, and what gets said there steers the rest.
About Baarn
Good to know about Baarn
Three cities within half an hour
Fifteen minutes to Amersfoort, half an hour to Hilversum and to Utrecht: few places of this size offer that much reach. Against that, most roles mean travelling daily, and at home that is discussed more often than the job itself.
Many households with two incomes
Baarn drew mainly families where both partners work. That makes a departure financially more bearable and at the same time more complicated, because two diaries have to fit.
Media and services close by
Towards Hilversum sit broadcasters, production companies and agencies. That is a world where a lot runs on projects, and it asks something different of your planning at home.
Baarnsche Dijk, at the edge of the village
There is space for the car at the door, and the station is five minutes away on a bicycle. Running the whole thing remotely is equally possible.
What the programme looks like
From intake to aftercare, step by step
These six stages make up the second track programme. What is settled is the order; the content depends on the employee, and how it is written down follows from the Gatekeeper Improvement Act.
Intake meeting and situation overview
The opening conversation has to complete the picture. What the company doctor noted, what work the employee did before and what they want now all come up, and we ask outright how much travelling still fits into a day. From that follows an action plan that meets the requirements.
Capacity analysis & occupational health assessment
Capacity is then substantiated in writing. The FML and the accompanying documents show what work remains, with hours, responsibility and travel considered separately. That outcome enters the reintegration plan as the objective, and those involved hear from us monthly.
Career scan & personal coaching
Attention then turns to the employee themselves. Through tests, assignments and conversations we bring their strengths and their limits into view, producing a profile they can present to an employer who does not know them.
Labour market exploration & job matching
We lay that profile alongside what is available. Healthcare and business services recruit in Baarn and Soest, with Amersfoort, Hilversum and Utrecht on top of that. If the move is too far in one step, a practical period comes first.
Active job search & network approach
The employee now goes out to companies directly, including those with nothing advertised. Their CV, their profile and their preparation all serve the chosen direction, and every week we go through what it yielded.
Aftercare and sustainable placement
Two months of aftercare show whether the placement stands: does the work suit, and is the daily journey sustainable? Reporting and the closing report come from the coach, who stays reachable through those weeks.
What we establish first
Four points this programme rests on
At review the UWV looks at what has been recorded. These four questions decide whether the file can carry it.
How much travelling still fits?
Travel time counts towards the load of a day. The occupational health assessment states how many consecutive hours are possible, and only then can you say whether Hilversum or Utrecht is realistic or whether it stays with Baarn and Soest.
Is there another role internally?
In healthcare and business services, supporting positions often sit alongside the front-line jobs. Go along them and write down which were discussed and why they did not go ahead.
Is project work sensible here?
Towards Hilversum a great deal runs on assignment. That can suit the build-up, but a run of short contracts offers little security. We weigh that in advance and record the reasoning.
Where does capacity grow?
On a shop floor, not at home. A period in a work experience placement makes clear which rhythm holds, including the journey there.
The aim of the programme
The employee holds a job at a distance they can keep up, and the file sets out the reasoning behind both.
Services, healthcare and media
Why employers in and around Baarn work with us
The work here sits mainly in business services and healthcare, with broadcasters and production companies added towards Hilversum. In that last corner assignments follow one another quickly, and that changes what a suitable position actually means.
Three cities, but not for free
Amersfoort is a quarter of an hour away, Hilversum and Utrecht half an hour. That widens the range considerably, though the travelling comes off what is left in the day for work itself.
Two diaries in the house
In many families here both partners work. A schedule that clashes with the other one rarely holds, and that consideration belongs at the start of the programme rather than the end.
Assignments instead of fixed hours
In the media corner much of the work goes by project. That leaves room to adjust, but it calls for a clear agreement on what happens once the assignment ends.
The file stays current
What was discussed and what it produced is noted with the date on the day itself. Nothing has to be rebuilt later on.
Questions from Baarn and the surrounding area
What employers here put to us
When should we start?
Week 52 is the upper limit, but the moment the company doctor says the original role is gone, that is your cue. Delay comes off the time available for building up. Stage by stage, the timescales are set out at the duration of a second track programme.
How is the programme fee determined?
That depends on the duration and on the components you use. On its own, placement covers little ground. Assessment, coaching and a practical period each widen the scope and the cost. The composition and the amount are settled before anything is scheduled.
Does travel time count towards suitable work?
Yes. A working day starts when someone leaves the house, and those hours count towards what they can manage. For a role in Utrecht or Hilversum we include that time and record why a position is or is not suitable.
How do you determine the search area?
As far as capacity allows. Soest, Eemnes, Bunschoten and Amersfoort are close by, with Hilversum and Utrecht half an hour away. We fix that boundary in advance.
