About second-track reintegration

Work outside the organisation, among institutions that know each other

When a return to the original role is no longer likely and the organisation has no internal alternative, the second track comes into view. The first question is what remains possible; capacity is then worked on, and approaching employers comes only after that. The way it is structured appears at the second track programme.

The statutory obligation is one thing; on the Heuvelrug the kind of employer counts as well. Around Driebergen sit a striking number of foundations, knowledge centres and training institutes. That world is small and people know one another, which makes an approach easier while also calling for care over who is told what and when.

Our office

Second-track reintegration in Driebergen-Rijsenburg and nearby

Our Driebergen-Rijsenburg location sits on Hoofdstraat, walking distance from Driebergen-Zeist station. Services, healthcare and education give this area its character, with a striking number of national organisations, training institutes and foundations on the estates along the Heuvelrug. Anyone losing their job here often notices that two things go at once: the work itself and the place where it happened, and those two are not equally important.

About Driebergen-Rijsenburg

Good to know about Driebergen-Rijsenburg

Institutes and foundations on the estates

Around Driebergen sit a striking number of national organisations, knowledge centres and training institutes, often in a listed building with grounds around it. That attracts people who care about the setting they work in, and that is not the same as caring about the job.

Utrecht fifteen minutes, Amersfoort twenty

The station sits on the Utrecht to Arnhem line and has just been rebuilt. Anyone willing to travel has two full labour markets within reach, with many times the number of roles.

Healthcare and education are structurally short

The institutions on and around the Heuvelrug have been short of people for years, including in supporting roles such as scheduling, administration and facilities. For anyone wanting to keep the sector but not the job, that is a genuine way out.

Hoofdstraat, by the station

The platform is a short walk away and there is space for cars nearby. Anyone preferring not to travel does the whole programme on video, from intake to aftercare.

What the programme looks like

From intake to aftercare, step by step

What follows is a series of six stages, together known as the second track programme. The order does not change, the content does, and the reporting follows the Gatekeeper Improvement Act.

1

Intake meeting and situation overview

Where did the work break down? That question opens the programme. In education or at an institution it is more often the accumulation of tasks than one identifiable element. Alongside that we cover the medical opinion, the working past and what the employee hopes for. Between them they produce an action plan that satisfies the requirements.

2

Capacity analysis & occupational health assessment

Capacity then acquires a written basis. The FML and the accompanying information determine what work remains possible; concentration, contact hours and responsibility are considered separately. What is concluded there becomes the aim of the reintegration plan, and every month the parties involved are informed.

3

Career scan & personal coaching

The third stage puts the employee at the centre. Tests, assignments and conversations make visible what they do well and where their limit lies, and that becomes a profile which says something at an unfamiliar organisation too.

4

Labour market exploration & job matching

That profile then goes along the available work. Healthcare, education and services are looking for people here, and with Utrecht and Amersfoort included the number of possibilities grows considerably. Should that step prove too big to take at once, a practical period is placed ahead of it.

5

Active job search & network approach

The employee now approaches organisations themselves, including those with no position open. In a sector where people know one another that often works better than responding to an advertisement. CV and profile are set to the chosen direction, with a review each week.

6

Aftercare and sustainable placement

Two months of aftercare close the programme. That is when it shows whether the pace is sustainable and whether the new surroundings suit. Reporting and the final report are written by the coach, who remains available for the duration.

The basis for second track

Four points this programme rests on

What has been written down determines how the file is judged. These four points are where that stands or falls.

  • Which part of the work fell away?

The occupational health assessment maps the boundaries. At institutions and in education those sit with sustained pressure and contact hours rather than with physical load.

  • Does the same role exist at another institution?

Scheduling, administration and facilities work resemble one another at comparable organisations. That makes a move promising, provided the profile states which experience travels with it.

  • Who is allowed to know?

In a small sector news travels fast. We agree in advance which organisations will and will not be approached, and hold to that for as long as it is wanted.

  • Where is capacity built up?

At a workplace, not from home. Spending weeks in a work experience placement settles the question of which pace is bearable, and that period is evidence in itself.

What we work towards

The employee fills a role where their experience counts, within what they can manage, with a file in which that route is written out.

Services, healthcare and education

Why employers in Driebergen and on the Heuvelrug work with us

Services, healthcare and education form the core here, with national organisations and training institutes on the estates alongside them. Absence in that corner regularly arises from sustained pressure, and then which element gave way matters more than the job title.

Institutes and foundations sit side by side

On and around the Heuvelrug many knowledge centres and national organisations are close together. For someone with experience in that world, comparable roles often lie within the same area.

Two labour markets by rail

Utrecht is a quarter of an hour away and Amersfoort twenty minutes, both by train. Anyone willing to travel sees the range increase considerably, though that travelling does cost energy during the build-up.

Healthcare and education have been recruiting for years

Institutions here are structurally short of people, including in supporting roles. That leaves room for someone who knows the sector but will be filling a different position.

Everything goes on paper immediately

What was discussed and what it produced is noted the same day, with the date. Nothing needs adding afterwards.

Questions from Driebergen and the surrounding area

What employers here put to us

When should we start?

Week 52 is the outer edge; the moment the company doctor concludes that the original role has lapsed, you may start sooner. With absence caused by sustained pressure, starting early matters, because building up then goes gradually. Each stage has its own timescale, described at the duration of a second track programme.

How is the programme fee determined?

That follows from the duration and from the components deployed. By itself, placement amounts to little. Bring in assessment, coaching and a practical period and the scope widens. You see the composition and the amount before anything is scheduled.

Our sector is small. How do we keep it from getting around?

By agreeing in advance who will be approached and who will not. We do not use the employee's name for as long as that is unnecessary, and organisations where they would rather not appear we skip. That agreement is recorded and kept to.

How do you determine the search area?

As far as capacity allows. Zeist, Doorn, Maarn, Odijk, Bunnik and Wijk bij Duurstede are close by; Utrecht is a quarter of an hour by train and Amersfoort twenty minutes. We agree that boundary in advance.

Zeist, Doorn, Maarn, Odijk, Bunnik and Wijk bij Duurstede are included. Utrecht is fifteen minutes by train and Amersfoort twenty; both we add as soon as you want to head that way.

Something still open? Put it to us; the first conversation commits you to nothing.
