Second-Track Reintegration
Reintegration office in Leusden
When the original job moves out of reach, the search turns to a role that does fall within the employee's capacity. We guide that from Leusden, ten minutes from Amersfoort, recording along the way what the UWV will want to read back at review.

The essentials of second-track reintegration
Looking for other work, with training a serious option
If the original role drops away and the organisation has nothing internally, the second track takes over. The order runs: first map what is feasible, then build capacity, and only then approach employers. The stages themselves are set out at the second track programme.
On top of the statutory obligation, the question of retraining comes up more here than elsewhere. Around the office parks along the A28 the content of jobs shifts quickly, and a course soon looks like the obvious move. Whether that holds depends on what the qualification actually opens.
Our office
Second-track reintegration in Leusden and nearby
Our Leusden location sits on Kerkweg, minutes from Amersfoort. Office work, software and care fill most of the jobs here, and the centre of gravity lies on the office parks along the A28. At a career move training comes up here more often than elsewhere, and that is when it shows how differently people pick up new things.
About Leusden
Good to know about Leusden
Office parks along the motorway
De Horst and Princenhof house consultancies, software firms and head offices of national organisations. That corner works a lot with certifications and in-house training.
Amersfoort ten minutes, Utrecht half an hour
Two labour markets within reach and a rail junction round the corner. That makes retraining more practical, because an evening course in Utrecht is no expedition.
IT and healthcare are structurally short
In both sectors the shortage here is persistent. Employers are therefore readier to train someone who has not yet fully mastered the trade.
Kerkweg, in the village
There is parking right outside, and Amersfoort is a ten-minute bus ride away. The programme can also run entirely on video.
What the programme looks like
From intake to aftercare, step by step
Together this series of stages is known as the second track programme. The order is fixed, the content differs per employee, and the Gatekeeper Improvement Act prescribes how it is recorded.
Intake meeting and situation overview
The opening conversation has to give us the full picture. The company doctor's opinion, the work history and the wishes all come up, and we ask whether training has been raised before and with what result. That produces an action plan meeting the stated requirements.
Capacity analysis & occupational health assessment
Capacity then goes on paper. The FML and the supporting documents determine what work remains, with concentration, consecutive hours and responsibility weighed separately. That outcome becomes the goal in the reintegration plan, with monthly updates to everyone involved.
Career scan & personal coaching
The career scan is about what the employee carries with them. Tests, assignments and conversations make talents, drivers and limits visible, producing a profile that also says something outside their own sector.
Labour market exploration & job matching
That profile is then held up against what employers are asking for. Around the A28, offices, software companies and healthcare institutions are recruiting, and Amersfoort widens that supply considerably. If a targeted training route proves necessary here, we first check that it leads to actual work.
Active job search & network approach
In the placement phase the employee makes contact themselves, including with companies that have no vacancy. The CV, the profile and the preparation follow the chosen direction, with a review each week.
Aftercare and sustainable placement
The last two months are aftercare. That is when it shows whether the work and the new surroundings suit. The coach can be reached, processes the reporting and draws up the reintegration report to specification.
The basis for second track
Four points this programme rests on
At review, what has been written down is what counts. These four questions decide whether the file can carry it.
What can the employee still manage?
The occupational health assessment sets the boundaries. In office roles those tend to sit with concentration and consecutive hours rather than physical effort, and that changes which work remains.
Is there another role within the organisation?
On an office park several departments often sit under one roof. Go along them and record which were checked and where it came unstuck.
Does training genuinely add something?
A course costs time and money, and both are limited. We first establish whether the training really gives access to suitable work before anything is bought.
Where is capacity built up?
In a real working environment. Weeks in a work experience placement show which rhythm proves sustainable, and those weeks are demonstrable.
What the programme should achieve
The employee works within their possibilities, and the file shows how that route was taken.
Office work, software and healthcare
Why employers in and around Leusden work with us
Most jobs here sit in office work, software and healthcare, concentrated along the A28. Long-term absence occurs regularly in those sectors, and the cause rarely lies with one single task.
Employers here are readier to train someone in
The companies are manageable in size and the lines are short. That makes taking on someone with ground to make up a smaller step than at a large organisation with fixed job structures.
Two labour markets within reach
Amersfoort is ten minutes away and Utrecht half an hour. Which of the two is usable depends on how much travel time is left alongside the build-up.
Training is tested for use first
Before time and budget go into it, we want to know whether the course really opens doors. A certificate with no demand behind it does the file no good.
The file keeps pace
What happens goes into the file the same day, with the date and the outcome. Nothing needs adding afterwards.
Questions from Leusden and the surrounding area
What employers here put to us
When should second-track reintegration start?
The outer limit sits around week 52; if the company doctor rules earlier that the original work is gone, you begin at that point. How much time each stage takes is set out at the duration of a second track programme.
What costs should the employer expect?
That follows from the duration and from what you put into it. Placement on its own is narrow in scope; add assessment, coaching and a practical period and it grows. What it contains and what it costs is known before anything starts.
Does our employee have to take a course first?
Not automatically. We look first at whether the existing profile already connects somewhere, because that saves months. If training does turn out to be needed, it is a targeted course with established demand behind it.
How do you determine the search area?
As far as capacity allows. Amersfoort, Woudenberg, Barneveld and Scherpenzeel are all within reach, Utrecht half an hour away. We agree that boundary in advance.
