About second-track reintegration
Looking for other work between agrifood and machine building
Where the original role does not return and the employer has no place internally, the second track takes over. What remains possible is determined first, building capacity follows, and approaching employers comes after that. The way those stages are laid out is described at the second track programme.
Alongside the statutory obligation, what matters in Salland is that expertise here passes from colleague to colleague. A certificate rarely goes with it, which makes that knowledge self-evident inside the company and invisible outside it. Anyone looking at another employer has to make it explicit first.
Our office
Second-track reintegration in Raalte and nearby
Our Raalte location sits on Stationsstraat, in the village centre. Salland leans on manufacturing, agrifood and healthcare, with Zwolle and Deventer both twenty minutes away. After a departure the attention here goes mainly to what your job was called, while the more useful question is what your employer actually taught you over all those years.
About Raalte
Good to know about Raalte
Food processing and machine building side by side
Around Raalte sit processors, machine builders and suppliers, often in family hands. Anyone working there learns the trade on the floor and rarely from a course folder.
Training here happens in house
A lot of knowledge passes from colleague to colleague without any certificate involved. That is valuable and at the same time invisible the moment you apply.
Zwolle and Deventer twenty minutes away
Two mid-sized cities within reach, each with its own labour market in healthcare, engineering and services. Including both gives considerably more choice.
Stationsstraat, in the centre
A short walk from the station with parking nearby. Doing it all at a distance is possible too.
What the programme looks like
From intake to aftercare, step by step
Six stages, one after the other, make up what is called the second track programme. The stages always come in this order. What happens inside them depends on the employee, and noting it down falls under the Gatekeeper Improvement Act.
Intake meeting and situation overview
To begin with we establish what the work ran aground on, and in processing that is often the combination of cold, standing and rotating shifts. The medical opinion, the jobs that came before and the employee's own wishes come in alongside, resulting in an action plan that meets the requirements.
Capacity analysis & occupational health assessment
What the body still allows then goes on paper. The FML and the supplementary data show what work remains, with temperature, standing and irregular hours each weighed on their own. That outcome is what the reintegration plan aims at, with monthly notice to those involved.
Career scan & personal coaching
Stage three concentrates on the individual. Tests, assignments and conversations draw out what they learned on the floor, including what was never written down.
Labour market exploration & job matching
Next, the profile meets the market. Processors, machine builders and care institutions recruit in Salland, and Zwolle and Deventer widen that supply. Where the new work sits too far from the old, a practical period comes first.
Active job search & network approach
From here the employee makes contact with firms directly, advertised post or not. In an area with many family firms that often yields more than an advertisement. CV and profile point towards the chosen course, with a review every week.
Aftercare and sustainable placement
The programme ends with two months of aftercare. They show whether the working rhythm is sustainable and whether the work suits. The coach handles the reporting, writes the closing report and stays reachable through that period.
Where the programme begins
Four points this programme rests on
What has been written down determines how the file is judged. These four points are decisive.
Where exactly does the load sit?
The occupational health assessment establishes that. In processing and machine building it comes down to cold, to standing at a line and to shift work, each considered on its own.
What does the employee have that appears nowhere?
Knowledge of machinery, of hygiene requirements or of breakdowns is often learned on the floor. We write out what they actually command, because another employer cannot guess it.
Does the same knowledge work in the other sector?
Processors and machine builders use comparable installations. Someone who did the maintenance at one is often usable at the other, provided that bridge is built into the profile.
Where is capacity built up?
On a shop floor, not at home. A period in a work experience placement makes clear which working rhythm is sustainable and produces evidence.
What we work towards
The employee works within their limits, with a profile setting out their practical knowledge in black and white and a file showing the route.
Industry, agrifood and healthcare
Why employers in Raalte and Salland work with us
Salland leans on industry, agrifood and healthcare, with processors, machine builders and suppliers frequently in family hands. Where absence runs long here, the telling question is which specific action became impossible, not what the post was called.
Two sectors that touch
Food processing and machine building sit next to one another here and use comparable installations. A move between the two is smaller than it looks from outside.
Training happens in house
Much knowledge passes from colleague to colleague with no paperwork involved. That is valuable, but it does have to be written down the moment someone looks beyond the company.
Zwolle and Deventer twenty minutes away
Two mid-sized cities within reach, each with its own market in healthcare, engineering and services. Including both gives considerably more choice.
The file stays current
Every conversation and every result gets a line the same day, with the date. Adding to it afterwards is unnecessary.
Questions from Raalte and Salland
What employers here put to us
When does a second-track programme become relevant?
The final deadline is week 52; if the company doctor says sooner that the original role lapses, you start at that point. With physical complaints that is sensible, because building up takes time. The length of the individual stages appears at the duration of a second track programme.
What costs should the employer expect?
Duration and composition together determine the amount. Placement by itself will not get you far. Assessment, coaching and a practical period widen the programme and raise the cost. Before anything is scheduled it is clear what it contains and what it costs.
Our employee has no qualifications but twenty years of experience. How do you tackle that?
By writing those twenty years down in language that can be followed outside the company. Which installations, which breakdowns, which requirements: that is concrete and checkable, where 'experienced employee' is not. Where necessary we demonstrate it in a practical period instead of describing it.
Where do you search for suitable work?
As far as capacity reaches. Heino, Luttenberg, Wijhe, Olst, Nieuwleusen and Dalfsen are close by, and Zwolle and Deventer both twenty minutes away. What the area becomes, we agree beforehand.
