Second-Track Reintegration
Reintegration agency in Almelo
If an employee stays out of action for a long time and their role is not coming back, the search for other work follows. We guide that from Almelo, where many people spent years with the same employer, and produce a carefully documented record of the reintegration efforts and progress.

What the second track is
Searching for other work after long service, with the experience set down
When the employee's own role is not returning and the company has nothing suitable internally, the second track comes into view. What remains achievable is determined, capacity then grows, and only then are employers approached. The build-up is at the second track programme.
Alongside the statutory obligation, the length of service matters here. Someone who worked fifteen or twenty years at the same company knows that company inside out and the rest of the market barely at all, and bridging that takes time.
Our office
Second-track reintegration in Almelo and nearby
Our Almelo location stands on Stationsstraat, minutes from the railway. Manufacturing, engineering and healthcare carry this town; the hospital and the production firms on the surrounding estates supply most of the work between them. After a forced departure the talk here is mostly about what went wrong, while the more useful question is what you had been missing all along.
About Almelo
Good to know about Almelo
A manufacturing town with staying power
Where textiles once stood there is now metal, plastics and machine building. Firms are on average older than in the Randstad, which means people stay long and know a great deal about a narrow field.
Hengelo and Enschede close by
Ten and twenty minutes down the line; in practice Twente is one labour market. Taking the three towns together shows a multiple of the technical and care roles.
Logistics is growing at the edge
On the business park along the A35 distribution and assembly meet. That produces roles in planning and work preparation, including for people coming off the production floor.
Stationsstraat, beside the railway
The platform is round the corner and cars fit in the nearby garage. Anyone who would rather not travel does the whole programme remotely, from intake to aftercare.
What the programme looks like
From intake to aftercare, step by step
The stages below lead to a job with another employer and are known together as the second track programme. The order stands, the substance is personal, and the Act governs how it is written down.
Intake meeting and situation overview
The opening conversation is there to map the situation. We cover the medical opinion, the working history and what the employee wants, and with long service we take time over everything picked up along the way. From that comes an action plan that follows the stated requirements.
Capacity analysis & occupational health assessment
Capacity is then anchored in writing. The FML and the supporting papers determine which work remains, with lifting, standing and shift work examined separately. That outcome becomes the objective in the reintegration plan, and everyone involved is updated each month.
Career scan & personal coaching
The career scan centres on what the employee is genuinely able to do. In manufacturing much knowledge sits in the hands and in routine; tests, assignments and conversations draw it out and produce a profile that reads outside the old company.
Labour market exploration & job matching
That profile is then laid alongside what employers are asking for. Metalworking, plastics, machine building, logistics and healthcare all recruit in this area, with Hengelo ten minutes off and Enschede twenty. Where the step proves too far in one move, a practical period comes first.
Active job search & network approach
At the placement stage the employee calls on companies, including those with no vacancy running. CV, LinkedIn and interview preparation are sharpened, which after twenty years at one employer often has to be built up again. Progress is reviewed weekly.
Aftercare and sustainable placement
The final two months serve as aftercare. Those weeks show whether the job and the new workplace really fit. Through those weeks the coach remains available, updates the reporting and writes the closing report.
What we start with
Four matters to settle early
At a review, the substantiation is what counts. These four matters decide whether the file can supply it.
Which demands are still responsible?
In metalworking, plastics and machine building it comes down to lifting, standing, vibration and sometimes shift work. The occupational health assessment separates those factors, and the list of options often turns out longer than expected.
Is there other work within the company?
Alongside production there are roles in work preparation, quality, maintenance and planning. Go through them and note which were considered and where they fell down.
How do we get the experience onto paper?
After long service much knowledge was never written down and people speak in names that mean nothing outside the company. Translating that is a substantial part of the programme and determines how an unfamiliar employer reads the candidate.
Where does capacity get rebuilt?
On a shop floor rather than at home. Weeks in a work experience placement show what is possible in practice, and they count in the file.
What we are steering towards
The employee does work that suits their possibilities, and their experience is described so that a new employer can place it.

Why employers in north-west Twente work with us
Where textiles once stood, metalworking, plastics and machine building now sit, with the hospital as a large employer alongside. Companies here are older on average and people stay a long time.
Long service calls for translation
Someone with twenty years at one employer has built up a great deal that is written down nowhere. We set the programme up so that this knowledge is named before any application goes out.
In practice Twente is one labour market
Hengelo is ten minutes away by train and Enschede twenty. Drawing that circle opens up a multiple of the technical and healthcare roles without having to move.
Logistics is growing at the city edge
On the business park along the A35, distribution and assembly come together. That produces roles in planning and work preparation, including for people coming out of production.
The recording keeps pace with the programme
Each step goes into the file that same day, date and result included. Nothing has to be assembled afterwards for the assessment.
Questions from north-west Twente
What employers here come to us with
When does a second-track programme become relevant?
Around the first-year evaluation it should be clear whether a second-track programme is required alongside first-track reintegration; if the company doctor calls a return unlikely before then, you can begin at once. With long service an early start pays off, because naming the experience and getting used to applying both take time. Lead times are at the duration of a second track programme.
How is the programme fee determined?
The price follows from the duration and from what is deployed. Placement alone stays limited; with assessment, coaching and a practical period it becomes more extensive. You know in advance which components are included and what they involve.
Our employee has been here twenty years. Is that a problem?
Not a problem, but a point to watch. Employers rarely see long service as an objection, though the first weeks take extra time because language is needed that stands apart from what things were called at the old employer. That is what we set the start of the programme up for.
How do you determine the search area?
As far as capacity allows. Hengelo, Enschede, Wierden and Rijssen are close by, and together they form one market in practice. We agree that limit beforehand and hold to it afterwards.
