Second-Track Reintegration
Reintegration agency in Zaandam
If an employee stays out of action and their role is not coming back, work with another employer is the next step. We guide that from Zaandam, with Amsterdam twelve minutes away by train, and build the file the way the UWV needs it at assessment.

Trusted by organisations that invest in their people

The second track in short
Work outside your own plant or organisation, substantiated step by step
Where the employee's own role is not returning and the employer has nothing suitable internally, the second track follows. What remains achievable is determined first, capacity then grows, and only after that are employers approached. The order is described at the second track programme.
Besides the statutory obligation, the nature of the work matters here. In the food industry much runs on shift work and physical strain, and those two rarely fall away at the same time.
Our office
Second-track reintegration in Zaandam and nearby
Our Zaandam location stands on Provincialeweg, close to the station. The Zaanstreek lives on food processing, manufacturing and logistics, with Amsterdam twelve minutes down the line. After a departure the conversation usually turns on what you did, while the more useful question is which slice of that day gave you energy and which drained you.
About Zaandam
Good to know about Zaandam
Food processing here goes back centuries
Cocoa, oil, flour and starch have been processed here for generations. That produces a dense layer of factories and suppliers, with work in production, maintenance, quality and logistics.
Amsterdam twelve minutes away
Trains run continuously to Sloterdijk and Centraal. In practice that makes the Zaanstreek part of the Amsterdam labour market, without its house prices.
Engineering and construction are short of people
Maintenance, installation and housebuilding run at full tilt here. Even without a technical qualification there are ways in through work preparation, planning and estimating.
Provincialeweg, beside the railway
A short walk from Zaandam station with parking in the surrounding streets. The programme can run entirely digitally too.
What the programme looks like
From intake to aftercare, step by step
The route towards suitable work elsewhere is set out below as the second track programme. The order is set; what goes into it depends on the employee, and the Gatekeeper Improvement Act governs the recording.
Intake meeting and situation overview
The first step takes energy and yields direction. An extensive conversation places capacity, work history and wishes side by side, and with production work we separate straight away what is wrong with the work itself from what is wrong with the roster. An action plan comes out of it that follows the stated requirements.
Capacity analysis & occupational health assessment
The second step calls for patience and returns clarity. The FML and the other medical information determine which work remains, with lifting, standing and night work examined separately. That outcome becomes a goal in the reintegration plan, with monthly notices to all parties involved.
Career scan & personal coaching
The third step is the heaviest and yields the most. Tests, assignments and conversations bring talents, drivers and limits to the surface, and this is often the moment when it emerges how much trade knowledge was never written down.
Labour market exploration & job matching
The fourth step takes the theory out of the plan. The profile goes alongside the market, with food processing, engineering, construction and logistics in the area itself and Amsterdam twelve minutes away. Where the move turns out too large in one go, a practical period comes first.
Active job search & network approach
The fifth step calls for persistence. The employee searches deliberately, draws on their network and knocks on doors where nothing is advertised, with CV, LinkedIn and interview preparation as tools. The state of play is reviewed every week.
Aftercare and sustainable placement
The last step costs little and prevents much. For two months the coach stays approachable for whatever comes up in the new place, and in that period the reports and the closing report are delivered as the UWV asks.
The steps we take
Four questions that set the direction
After a long absence the conversation usually turns on the job title and the tasks. These four questions are more useful, because the file is assessed on them.
What falls away: the work or the roster?
In production many roles run in shifts, and it regularly turns out that only the nights are the problem. The occupational health assessment separates the two, and that changes the number of suitable roles considerably.
Is there other work within the company?
Alongside the line there are roles in work preparation, quality, maintenance and planning. Work through them and note which came up and where they fell down.
Does Amsterdam count in the search area?
Twelve minutes by train puts the employee in one of the largest labour markets in the country. Whether that journey suits the current capacity is settled at the start, because travelling is a load too.
Where does capacity get rebuilt?
On a shop floor rather than from home. A period in a work experience placement makes visible what holds up in practice, and those weeks count as effort.
What the programme leads to
The employee does work that is physically sustainable, and the file shows which steps were taken to get there.
Food, industry and logistics
Why employers in the Zaanstreek work with us
Food processing, industry and logistics carry this area, with engineering and construction close behind. Absence in those sectors often builds through physical strain, and that is when track two comes into view.
Trade knowledge from production travels further than expected
Someone who solves breakdowns, safeguards quality or keeps a shift running uses skills that also count in maintenance, work preparation and logistics. Naming those is a large part of the programme.
Engineering and construction are short of people here
Maintenance, installation and housebuilding are running at full tilt. Even without technical training there are ways in, for instance through planning, estimating or work preparation.
In practice the Zaanstreek is one market with Amsterdam
Trains run continuously to Sloterdijk and Centraal. How much of that market counts depends on the travel that still fits alongside a roster being rebuilt.
The file keeps pace with the guidance
What happens is noted on the day itself, with the date and the outcome. At the assessment it can therefore be read back what was done and when.
Questions from the Zaanstreek
What employers here are running into
At what point should the second track begin?
Week 52 is the outer limit, and as soon as the company doctor calls a return to the employee's own work unlikely it can be earlier. With physical complaints that counts heavily, because building hours back up simply takes time. Lead times per phase are listed at the duration of a second track programme.
How is the programme fee determined?
The price depends on the duration and on the components deployed. Placement support alone stays limited in design; adding assessment, coaching and a practical period makes it more extensive. The composition is settled before anything is scheduled.
Our employee can no longer do night shifts. Is that track two?
Not automatically. First check whether day work is available within the company; that would be the first track. If it is not, track two comes into play. Log both steps with their dates; that sequence gets checked at the assessment.
How do you determine the search area?
As far as capacity allows. Wormerveer, Krommenie, Purmerend and Amsterdam are close by, and the train reaches the city in twelve minutes. We agree that limit beforehand and hold to it afterwards.
