Outplacement: support towards a new future
What is outplacement?
Guidance from one job to the next is what outplacement amounts to, and it normally takes three to six months. Anyone who knows their direction is out sooner; anyone who still has to find it uses the full period. No guide changes along the way. The first meeting costs nothing and is free and without obligation.
Why the phases run in this sequence is described on what an outplacement programme involves.
What does an outplacement process look like at Care4Careers in Bergen op Zoom?
Our approach in 5 steps
Five steps, and within them eight components you choose from. That is how an outplacement programme differs from help bought piece by piece.
Many people opt for a modular programme: together with your coach you decide where to put the effort. Here you will find our modules.
Personal intake
How did you come by your previous jobs, and what came naturally in that? Those two answers decide where we put the effort.
Coaching and assessment
Which skills and knowledge have become so familiar in your work that you hardly think to mention them? Making that experience visible can reveal strengths that are highly relevant to your next step.
Preparing for the market
Your CV gets written for a reader who has never met you, and for most people here that is the largest adjustment.
Job search and network
You go out along the route that suits you, whether that is agencies, former colleagues or vacancies.
Aftercare and support
You are working by now and we remain within reach until you are sure it is right.

Matching the support to the reason for leaving
When outplacement is used
What happens before outplacement can differ considerably. The programme then concentrates on building a realistic perspective elsewhere.
Restructuring makes your role redundant
Your position may end while the experience you built remains valuable. We explore other roles in which those capabilities can be used.
Fixed-term employment reaches its conclusion
When renewal is not expected, the period before departure can be used to begin shaping your next direction.
Professional support is included in the settlement
A mutually agreed exit can contain an outplacement budget, allowing you to prepare for what follows with structured guidance.
Another type of work is needed after long-term absence
If returning to your own role is no longer appropriate and employment ends, we turn that change into a practical external search.
Outplacement in Bergen op Zoom
From work to work, along the route that suits you
How you came by your previous job predicts what works now better than which trade you practise. Someone who rolled in through an agency has a different starting point from someone who grew through one employer over twenty years.
We know industry in this corner
From chemicals and logistics to the maintenance work at Woensdrecht and healthcare. Which door opens where, and whether that runs through paper or through people, differs per company.
Your network is bigger than you think
Anyone who worked through agencies knows former colleagues at several companies. How to approach them without asking for a job is at networking to find work.
In a large reorganisation, pace counts
When a department goes here, a whole group hits the market at once. Starting early saves more than it does elsewhere; see dismissal through reorganisation.
Aftercare until it holds
The first months at a new employer decide whether the step sticks. Through that period your coach simply stays reachable.
What you are working towards
You know by which route you come by work, and this time you used that route deliberately.
Who guides you

Our office
Outplacement in Bergen op Zoom and nearby
Our Bergen op Zoom location is on Bruinevisstraat, in the centre. Manufacturing, logistics and engineering carry this corner of West Brabant, with Roosendaal, Moerdijk and Woensdrecht as the other centres of gravity and Antwerp forty-five minutes away. What stands out here is how people came by their work: through an agency, through someone they knew, or by growing through one company. That route says a lot about which approach works again now.
About Bergen op Zoom
Good to know about Bergen op Zoom
Large employers, and not much beside them
A handful of industrial companies account for a large share of employment here. When a department goes at such an employer, many people search at once, and speed counts more heavily than elsewhere.
Roosendaal, Woensdrecht and Antwerp
Within half an hour lie Roosendaal and the airbase at Woensdrecht with its maintenance firms; Antwerp is forty-five minutes. That widens the supply considerably, though working in Belgium does change your insurance and your tax return.
Many people came in through an agency
Agency work is a common stepping stone to permanent work here. That means a share of the workforce has seen several employers from the inside, which produces a stronger network than people themselves assume.
Bruinevisstraat, in the centre
It is a short walk from the station and there is parking nearby. Sessions can also run entirely online. If you would rather not travel, you join on screen.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about outplacement
Who pays for the programme?
Your employer, with rare exceptions, through the settlement agreement or the social plan. Let someone go through it before you agree to anything: having your settlement agreement reviewed.
A large group is leaving us at once. Does that still work?
Yes, and then order matters. When fifty people with the same profile start searching at once, the one with a sharp story first wins. That is why with such a group we start on market preparation earlier than we normally would.
Can I work in Belgium?
You can; Antwerp is forty-five minutes away and is short of people in logistics and engineering. Do bear in mind that your insurance, your pension accrual and your tax return will run differently. We name that and refer you on for the detail.
I have always worked through agencies. Does that count?
Certainly, and more than you think. You have worked at different companies, you know how to get up to speed quickly and you know people in several places. That is three things an employer values; it just rarely appears on a CV.
How quickly can we start?
Usually within seven days of the assignment being confirmed. We respond to your enquiry within 24 hours.
Should I look at Antwerp or Rotterdam if it does not work out here?
Not immediately, but it is worth knowing what the options are. Antwerp lies forty-five minutes off and holds a great deal of logistics and engineering. A Belgian job does alter your insurance, your pension build-up and your tax return, and for those calculations we point you to a specialist. Rotterdam is further but Dutch, and well connected via Roosendaal. Before looking that way we first map the work within a half-hour drive, because that is adequate more often than people assume.
We are registering a whole department. Do they get one programme?
No. Precisely within a group from one department, the route by which people came in varies widely, and that decides what works. Each employee builds a programme from our modules together with their coach. Its make-up is described at the outplacement programme.
