Outplacement: support towards a new future

What is outplacement?

Outplacement in Brunssum starts with the question of how long you have been at it. Someone just beginning needs direction; someone still searching a year on mainly needs something that breaks the pattern. In Parkstad, where searches run longer than average, that distinction separates guidance that lands from guidance you have heard before. Meeting us first is always free.

Why the phases follow one another this way is set out on what an outplacement programme involves.

What does an outplacement process look like at Care4Careers in Brunssum?

Our approach in 5 steps

Between start and close lie three to six months, cut into five consecutive steps. That makes an outplacement programme different from loose application tips.

Many people opt for a modular programme: together with your coach you decide where to put the effort. Here you will find our modules.

1

Personal intake

How long has this been running, and what have you tried in that time? The plan starts there.

2

Coaching and assessment

What can you do, and what has been added in the meantime without you counting it?

3

Preparing for the market

Your profile is rewritten, including a calm explanation of the period in between.

4

Job search and network

You go out through different channels than so far, because repeating what did not work is pointless.

5

Aftercare and support

You are in the job, and we stay within reach while the rhythm of it settles.

When outplacement is used

The route into outplacement varies. The question afterwards is more important: what constitutes a realistic and suitable next move?

You become redundant

Organisational change may remove your current job. We translate your existing experience into a profile that can be used elsewhere.

Temporary employment ends as scheduled

Because the date is known, the final period can be used to investigate possibilities and prepare the next move.

Termination is agreed by both sides

A mutual exit can include employer funding for professional support, giving you structure during the transition.

The former workplace no longer offers a sustainable return

If employment ends after a prolonged absence, we identify another working situation that fits more effectively.

Outplacement in Brunssum

From work to work, however long it has taken

The approach that works in week two is not the one that works in month fourteen. Someone just starting needs direction; someone months in mainly needs something that breaks the pattern. We make that distinction before we begin.

We know the employers in Parkstad

The care institutions, the technical firms, the distribution centres and the municipalities. Which door you have to knock on varies from organisation to organisation, and that is known to us.

A gap in your CV can be explained

Employers ask about it and almost always accept a clear answer. What does not work is talking around it; how to put it we practise.

The guidance comes from your employer

Your termination file ought to name it. Put that in front of an expert first, and agree only afterwards: having your settlement agreement reviewed.

Also once you are inside

After a long search the first month is extra tense. Throughout that period your coach stays available to you.

What you are working towards

You have found work, and you can calmly explain what happened between then and now.

Who guides you

Who guides you at the Brederostraat

At the Brederostraat you meet a coach who knows healthcare, engineering and logistics in Parkstad and what can be found across the border towards Aachen. Whether you are just starting or have been searching for a year sets the approach here, and you make that choice together before the programme begins. You are welcome to come by, and otherwise it runs on video.

Our office

Outplacement in Brunssum and nearby

Our Brunssum location stands on Brederostraat, in the middle of Parkstad. Most of the work in this area sits in healthcare, engineering and logistics, and the German border is ten minutes off. This area had to reinvent itself entirely after the mines closed, and it shows: people here often search longer than elsewhere, and that changes what is needed.

About Brunssum

Good to know about Brunssum

Healthcare grows faster here than average

Parkstad ages earlier than the rest of the country, so demand for care and welfare structurally outstrips supply. That holds for the roles around it too: planning, administration and facilities.

Aachen and Heinsberg are round the corner

The border here is not a barrier but a daily route. On the German side there is demand in engineering, logistics and healthcare, though applying there asks for different paperwork and a different CV.

Heerlen, Sittard and Maastricht nearby

All three within half an hour and perfectly doable by train. Drawing that circle means looking at the whole of South Limburg rather than one municipality.

Brederostraat, in the centre

There is parking nearby and the bus stops round the corner. From first introduction to closing it can run entirely digitally if you prefer.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about outplacement

I have been searching over a year. Is this still worthwhile?

Especially then, because after a year the problem is usually not the market but an approach that has seized up. Responding the same way to the same vacancies produces the same outcome every time. What helps is breaking the pattern: other channels, approaching directly, and smaller steps that do produce something.

How do I explain a gap in my CV?

Briefly, factually and without apology. An employer wants to know whether it lies behind you, not everything that happened. Two sentences saying what you did do in that period are enough, and we formulate them together.

Can I go and work in Germany?

You can, and it happens a lot here; Aachen is half an hour away. A few things do change: your insurance, your pension build-up and your tax return all work out differently. A German employer also expects a CV put together along other lines; translating the Dutch one will not do. For the tax side we refer you on.

What does a programme cost?

The cost lands somewhere between 2,000 and 5,000 euros, VAT not included. The amount follows from the components chosen and the number of months, and it is fixed before you begin.

How soon can it begin?

Seven days after agreement on the assignment, roughly. Anyone who sends us something usually hears back within a day.

We are letting several employees go. Do they get the same?

No. One is at the beginning and another has been searching a while, and that asks for a different approach. The coach and the employee decide together which modules come up. The separate parts are at the eight modules.
