Outplacement: support towards a new future
What is outplacement?
Outplacement provides support in finding a suitable next step. The cost is usually covered by your employer. You work with a dedicated coach throughout the programme, and the introductory conversation costs nothing and binds you to nothing.
Why one phase follows the other is explained on what an outplacement programme involves.
What does an outplacement process look like at Care4Careers in Venlo?
Our approach in 5 steps
Eight building blocks spread over the five steps below; most people deploy four. What an outplacement programme keeps constant is the sequence, however much the tempo varies from person to person.
Many people opt for a modular programme: together with your coach you decide where to put the effort. Here you will find our modules.
Personal intake
During the intake, we define a realistic search area together. We also consider opportunities across the border, commuting time and what fits your life outside work.
Coaching and assessment
Which experience survives a change of sector or country? That is what we map.
Preparing for the market
We write your profile for whoever has to read it, and here that is sometimes an employer in Nettetal or Kaldenkirchen.
Job search and network
The writing is yours, along a list matched to your search area. Every conversation we go through.
Aftercare and support
You have begun somewhere and we keep watching for as long as it has yet to show whether the place is sound.

When your search needs a different direction
When outplacement is used
Employment can end in different ways. What follows is a structured process of building a new professional perspective.
Organisational change makes your position redundant
If no suitable internal role remains, we identify where your experience can be applied beyond the current organisation.
Your fixed-term agreement expires
With the end date approaching, you can already define your search area, profile and approach before the job stops.
Departure is agreed jointly
Employer-funded career transition support can be included in a mutual settlement.
The route back to your previous role ends
If employment stops after prolonged absence, we investigate other tasks and working environments that may now suit you.
Outplacement in Venlo
From work to work, with the border in or out
If you are open to it, opportunities across the border can be considered alongside positions in the Netherlands. We include that possibility when it fits your search profile and personal circumstances.
Two labour markets within a quarter of an hour
Across the German border, transport, engineering and healthcare are hiring, and the pay scales work out differently there. What that means for your role we work out concretely.
We speak to the companies along the motorway
Trading houses, processors, hauliers and the care providers. One door opens with a letter, the next only through someone you know. Making contact without asking for work: networking to find work.
A German contract has consequences
Insurance, pension build-up and the annual tax return all change shape. We point out where it will pinch and leave the arithmetic to someone who specialises in it. Where the price comes from is broken down on what an outplacement programme costs.
Also once you have started
Certainly with a move to another country you do not settle in a week. Throughout that stretch your guide remains within reach.
What you are working towards
You know which side of the border you are searching, and this time that was a decision.
Who guides you
The coaches at Kaldenkerkerweg
One guide sits on your programme from the opening appointment to the closing one: someone who knows the trading houses and processors in this area and who has learned first hand what working on the other side of the border means day to day. You come to the Nijmeegseweg, or we do it by video.
Our office
Outplacement in Venlo and nearby
Our Venlo location stands on Kaldenkerkerweg, between the station and the German border. Trade, processing and transport keep this area running; Greenport and the estates along the A67 supply most of the jobs. What sets Venlo apart is that the national border runs through the middle of the search area, and that almost nobody thinks of it first after a dismissal.
About Venlo
Good to know about Venlo
Germany begins where the city ends
Straelen, Nettetal and Kaldenkirchen are closer than Roermond. Anyone applying there meets different collective agreements, different hours and a letter built along other lines.
Trade and processing, not factories
This region packs, sorts and ships more than it produces. That calls for people who keep the overview when a hundred pallets arrive at once, and that skill travels.
The season sets the pace
In agrifood staffing rises and falls with the harvest. Employers therefore recruit at different moments than elsewhere, which is usable once you know the calendar.
Kaldenkerkerweg, between station and border
Ten minutes on foot from the platform; drivers leave the car in the street. Running the whole thing at a distance is equally possible, intake through to aftercare.
The region at a glance
The labour market in Venlo
The larger part of the jobs in this region comes out of transport, agrifood and manufacturing, and those are at the same time the sectors searching hardest. Engineering and healthcare are picking up alongside, usually in roles attached to those same firms without putting you on the line.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about outplacement
Do I earn more on the German side?
For some roles it makes a considerable difference, for others none. It depends on the sector, the type of contract and the tax rules that come to apply to you. We set gross against net; once it comes down to your figures we refer you on. Where a reorganisation is the cause, read dismissal through reorganisation as well.
Do I need fluent German?
Fluent is not required, intelligible is. In transport and production people get far on basic knowledge and goodwill; in healthcare and customer contact the bar sits higher. Where you stand we test before any letters go out.
I work in a greenhouse. What else can I do?
Horticulture teaches you planning, safeguarding quality, handling peaks and running a team. All four are wanted in transport, packaging and food, and here those sit within a few kilometres of each other. The way to put that into words is described on writing a CV after redundancy.
Who covers the cost?
Your employer takes it on, barring exceptions. If outplacement is included in your departure arrangements, check which budget and conditions have been agreed. Have those documents read through by someone who knows the field first, and only then put your name under it: having your settlement agreement reviewed. The cost moves between 2,000 and 5,000 euros, VAT not included.
When can we get going?
Allow five to seven working days from the moment the signature is on the assignment. Whatever reaches us gets a response that same day, or otherwise the next.
Several people are leaving us at once. Do they get the same?
No. One deliberately searches on the German side, another wants nothing to do with it. Every employee picks the modules that fit, together with their coach. More on the make-up at the eight modules.
