Outplacement: support towards a new future
What is outplacement?
Outplacement means your former organisation pays for the guidance and you decide what happens with it. One coach sits on your programme, from the first conversation until well past your first working day, and that first meeting carries no price tag and no obligation.
Which phases it consists of, and why that order exists, is described under what an outplacement programme involves.
What does an outplacement process look like at Care4Careers in Blaricum?
Our approach in 5 steps
Three to six months are allowed for, divided into five phases. Within those phases you decide which components run: there are eight and on average four are used. That an outplacement programme holds its order helps most when you are torn between carrying on and starting again: the choice falls in phase two and not in week one, when you are not ready for it.
Many people opt for a modular programme: together with your coach you decide where to put the effort. Here you will find our modules.
Personal intake
Where do you stand, what happened, and do you feel like starting on something once more?
Coaching and assessment
Your abilities and your wishes side by side, so the size of your step becomes a sum rather than a feeling.
Labour market preparation
Your story aims at the direction you pick; someone switching tells something else than someone continuing.
Job search and network
You make contact yourself, including with the small firms here that rarely post a vacancy.
Aftercare and guidance
You have started and after a few months we look at whether the choice holds.

When staying is no longer the starting point
When outplacement is used
Once your career is expected to continue outside the organisation, the programme can concentrate fully on what needs to happen next.
Restructuring removes your position
If the organisation no longer retains your role, we identify the strengths from it that remain relevant in another environment.
Temporary employment is due to finish
With a defined end date, you can investigate options before leaving instead of beginning under immediate time pressure.
Both parties agree to end the employment relationship
Career transition support can be included in the departure arrangements and used to prepare the next professional phase.
The route back to your former work closes
If sustainable resumption is no longer appropriate and employment ends, we build a new perspective around what now fits.
Outplacement in Blaricum
Carry on where you left off, or begin somewhere else
Leaving an employer can be a good moment to reconsider your direction. Do you want to build on your existing experience, or is this the right time to explore something different? We help you consider both options carefully.
We know the employers in het Gooi
The care institutions, the consultancies and the companies around Hilversum and Almere. Where they select on experience and where on what you want to learn differs per organisation, and we know that beforehand.
Starting over is not all or nothing
Between carrying on and starting again lies a series of intermediate steps: the same trade in a different sector, the same sector in a different trade, or keeping part of your work and replacing the rest. Those steps rarely come into view by themselves.
Your departing employer pays
That belongs in writing in the document that ends your employment. Have it checked before you sign: having your settlement agreement reviewed.
After you have started, too
A fresh start always feels right in the first weeks. Whether it holds you only know after three months or so, and until then your coach is available.
What you are working towards
You decided how large your step became, and six months on that decision still holds.

About Blaricum
Good to know about Blaricum
The media sector runs on short contracts
Around Hilversum a great deal turns on productions and assignments of limited duration. People coming out of that are used to switching, but rarely have a long unbroken line on paper that another sector recognises.
Many self-employed people and small firms
Het Gooi holds a striking number of sole traders, consultancies and companies under ten people. That means short lines when you apply and, at the same time, few formal vacancies, so most of what is available is published nowhere.
Care and IT hire year in, year out
The shortages in this region sit in care, IT, engineering and media, which leaves room for someone stepping in without mastering the full picture yet. For a fresh start that matters more than it sounds.
Binnendelta, on the edge of Blaricummermeent
Parking at the door, the A27 exit two minutes away, and Hilversum and Almere both inside a quarter of an hour. Rather not travel, then everything runs by video, the first meeting included.

The labour market in Blaricum
This region leans on care, business services and media, and the tightness sits in care, IT, engineering and media. Hilversum is ten minutes away, Almere fifteen and Amsterdam thirty; three labour markets, which is exactly what counts when you are weighing a move to another sector.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about outplacement
I am 55 and want to switch sector. Is that realistic?
Realistic it certainly is, though not equally easy in every direction. Where shortages sit, in care, IT and engineering, demonstrable experience weighs more heavily than the diploma that formally belongs with it. Where there is no shortage it gets hard, and an intermediate step is then wiser: the same trade in another sector, and only after that further. We work that through in advance.
My contract is expiring, I have not been dismissed. Does this apply to me?
Often yes. With an expiring contract guidance is offered less automatically, but many employers are willing once you ask, certainly when you stayed for years. We put on paper what a programme costs and what it contains, so you enter that conversation with something concrete.
I come from media and want out. Where do I begin?
By taking stock of what you actually did, because media job titles say nothing outside the sector. Behind a title there is usually planning, budget control, client contact or engineering, and those are the words people search on elsewhere. Once that is on the table the move usually turns out smaller than expected.
What does a programme cost?
Between 2.000 and 5.000 euro, VAT excluded. How many components you use and how long you run make the difference, broken down at what an outplacement programme costs, and the amount that applies to you is known before anything starts.
How soon can it start?
Usually within a week once the assignment is agreed. Whatever you send us gets a reply the same or the next working day.
We are reorganising. Can everyone pick their own direction?
Yes, and that is rather the point. One person will do the same work elsewhere and another will switch, which calls for different components and a different duration. What stays the same are the arrangements you make with us. What stays the same are the arrangements you make with us; see the programme in modules.
