Second-Track Reintegration
Reintegration office in Schipluiden
The Westland begins almost at the village edge here, and behind the glass sit engineering, logistics and quality alongside cultivation. When the original role falls away, the question is where the working day will be spent from now on. We guide that from the Woudseweg, with Delft ten minutes away.

What second track means
Looking for other work, inside or outside the glass
When a return to the original role is ruled out and the employer has nothing suitable internally, the second track comes up. What remains feasible is determined first, capacity is worked on next, and approaching employers follows from there. The way those stages are laid out is described at the second track programme.
Besides the statutory obligation, where someone spends their day matters here. Heat, humidity and standing come with work in the greenhouses; office roles in Delft or The Hague ask something quite different. Where the company doctor limits precisely the climate or the standing, the search shifts to the engineering, the planning or the sales behind the same sector.
Our office
Second-track reintegration in Schipluiden and nearby
Our Schipluiden location stands on Woudseweg, in the middle of Midden-Delfland. Horticulture, logistics and engineering shape this area, with the Westland and Delft immediately around the corner. What plays a bigger part here after a departure than elsewhere is where your working day actually happens: at a desk, in a hall, or outdoors.
About Schipluiden
Good to know about Schipluiden
Greenhouses as far as you can see
The Westland starts practically at the village edge. Behind the glass sits not only cultivation but also engineering, logistics, quality and sales, and those four call for very different people.
Delft, The Hague and Rotterdam close by
Delft lies ten minutes away, The Hague and Rotterdam both half an hour. That puts office work within reach without having to move away from the greenery.
Engineering behind the horticulture
Climate systems, packing lines and transport keep the sector running. Anyone working there has technical knowledge that counts outside horticulture too.
Woudseweg, in the village
There is room to park at the door and Delft is ten minutes away. Doing it all remotely is possible too.
What the programme looks like
From intake to aftercare, step by step
Six stages, listed below, form what is called the second track programme. The stages always come in this order; what happens inside them depends on the employee, and the noting falls under the Gatekeeper Improvement Act.
Intake meeting and situation overview
To begin with we establish which condition made the work impossible: the heat, the humidity, the standing or the weights to be lifted. Alongside it the medical opinion, the working history and the employee's own preference are discussed, resulting in an action plan that meets the requirements.
Capacity analysis & occupational health assessment
What is still possible is then set down in writing. The FML and the accompanying papers determine what work remains, with climate, standing and lifting weighed separately. That outcome becomes the goal in the reintegration plan, with monthly updates to those involved.
Career scan & personal coaching
Stage three concentrates on the employee. Tests, assignments and conversations show what they command, and with horticultural engineering that is often more than a single sector can use.
Labour market exploration & job matching
That profile then goes out to the market. The Westland recruits in cultivation, engineering and logistics, and Delft, The Hague and Rotterdam offer office work besides. Where there is too much distance between old and new work, we build a practical period in between.
Active job search & network approach
At the placement stage the employee calls on companies themselves, whether or not a vacancy is posted. CV and profile follow the chosen direction and we prepare the conversations together, with a review every week.
Aftercare and sustainable placement
The programme ends with two months of aftercare. They show whether the new conditions suit and whether it can be kept up. The coach keeps the reporting up, writes the final report and remains contactable.
The first step in the process
Four points this programme rests on
The file is judged on what it contains. These four points decide whether that suffices.
Which conditions have been limited?
The occupational health assessment distinguishes heat, humidity, standing and lifting. Often one of those four proves to be the sticking point, and then the sector stays open while the role does not.
What else sits behind the glass?
Climate installations, packing lines, quality and sales keep horticulture running. Go along those roles and keep track of which were checked and why they fell away.
Is the technical skill usable outside the sector?
Anyone maintaining climate or transport installations holds knowledge that counts just as much elsewhere. That translation has to be stated explicitly in the profile, or it reads as horticulture and nothing else.
Where is capacity built up?
At a workplace, not at home. A period in a work experience placement shows which conditions are sustainable and produces evidence.
What the programme should achieve
The employee works under conditions they can bear, and the file makes it traceable how that choice came about.
Horticulture, logistics and engineering
Why employers in Midden-Delfland work with us
Horticulture, logistics and engineering give this area its shape, with the Westland and Delft immediately at hand. Absence here often arises from the conditions the work is done in, which is something other than no longer being able to do the work.
Behind the glass there is more than cultivation
Engineering, logistics, quality and sales all belong to it. Someone who can no longer take the climate can often go in quite another direction within the same sector.
Delft, The Hague and Rotterdam close by
Delft is ten minutes away and The Hague and Rotterdam both half an hour. Office work is therefore reachable without moving house, though travel time counts towards the daily load.
Engineering reaches beyond the greenhouse
Climate installations and packing lines resemble what stands in other industries. That similarity is usable the moment it is named in the profile.
What happens gets noted
Every conversation and every outcome gets a dated line the same day. Nothing needs adding afterwards.
Questions from Midden-Delfland and the Westland
What employers here put to us
At what point should the second track begin?
Around the first-year evaluation it is assessed whether second-track reintegration should be started alongside first-track efforts, and once the company doctor indicates the original role lapses you can begin earlier. With complaints tied to conditions, that saves time. The length of the individual stages appears at the duration of a second track programme.
How much does second-track reintegration cost?
Duration and composition together determine the amount. Placement by itself will not get you far; assessment, coaching and a practical period widen the programme and raise the cost. What it contains and what it costs is settled before anything is scheduled.
Our employee can no longer work in the greenhouse. Does the sector stay open then?
Often it does. If the climate is the problem rather than the trade, engineering, planning, quality and sales come into view, and those sit in the same companies. We establish which roles genuinely exist and record which were examined.
Where do you search for suitable work?
As far as capacity reaches. Delft, Maasland, Den Hoorn, De Lier, Naaldwijk and Pijnacker are close by, with The Hague and Rotterdam half an hour away. What the area becomes, we agree beforehand.
